Noah Hertlein (He/Him)
Hello! I'm Noah Hertlein, a Technology Risk professional at EY and a proud graduate of the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas (May 2025). My career sits at the intersection of finance, technology, and governance—majoring in Finance with a concentration in Financial Analytics and a minor in Business Information Systems.
My passion lies in understanding and applying cutting-edge technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence, to solve real-world business challenges and mitigate organizational risk. This led me to co-found the Arkansas AI Foundry, a non-profit initiative that grew to 100+ members dedicated to fostering AI innovation across disciplines. As the VP of A.I., I continue to guide our technical direction and strategic initiatives.
>I joined Ernst & Young (EY) as a Technology Risk Staff member in July 2025 after completing a successful internship the previous summer. My work focuses on IT audit procedures, assessing IT General Controls (ITGCs) and IT Automated Controls (ITACs) for SOC and SOX compliance engagements.
>Prior to joining EY full-time, I served as a Finance Technology Research Assistant under Professor Xinde Zhang, working with the DRIVER framework for financial modeling. This role deepened my understanding of AI and Python applications for finance, and I had the opportunity to support graduate students with coding challenges.
>My background spans Financial Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC). This combination provides a strong foundation for understanding both the business context and technical aspects of IT audit work.
